About Kapama River Lodge

Kapama River Lodge is a lodge in the Kapama private reserve, near Hoedspruit, in the Greater Kruger. The reserve covers 15,000 hectares, with the Drakensberg mountains on the horizon. Every room is an air-conditioned suite. The lodge has two pools, a spa, a fitness room, a restaurant and a bar. Your stay includes meals, a selection of drinks, Wi-Fi, two game drives a day and a bush walk. The front desk is open around the clock.

Location

Kapama is a private reserve in the Greater Kruger: the lodge is not inside the national park. As the crow flies, Orpen Gate, the nearest entrance to Kruger National Park, is 37 km away. Phabeni Gate is 70 km away, Paul Kruger Gate 77 km and Numbi Gate 83 km.

Hoedspruit airport is 6.9 km away as the crow flies, and Skukuza airport 82 km. The lodge runs a free airport shuttle. If you come by car, the private parking is free.

Rooms

The suites range from 50 to 65 m²: Leadwood, Marula, Tamboti Superior and Royal, the largest. All have air conditioning, heating, a terrace, a seating area and a desk. Each one has a minibar, a coffee machine and a kettle.

The bathroom has a bathtub and a shower, with toiletries and a hair dryer. Cribs are free on request, but the lodge does not add extra beds.

Dining

All meals are included, with a selection of local and premium drinks. Breakfast offers continental, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, and it can be served in your suite. The restaurant has children's menus and prepares meals for special diets on request. The lodge also has a bar.

Leisure

The two pools are open all year, with parasols, sun loungers and towels. The spa offers massages, facials and body treatments, scrubs, wraps, manicures and pedicures. The lodge also has a sauna, a steam room, a fitness room and yoga classes. Treatments and the sauna cost extra. Babysitting is available too, for a fee.
